CWPs Poetry Critique Group

The poetry critique group meets every first and third Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at The Lodge on 9370 Union Cemetery Road in Loveland. Meetings usually last 90 minutes to 2 hours, and members bring one or two poems to distribute and read. There are usually five to eight poets at a meeting.

During the past year, the following books have been published by members:

      Queen Anne’s Lace (Circumference Press) by Carol Feiser Laque;
      Liberry (Pudding House Publications) by Barb Bonney;
      Writing at the Waffle House (Pudding House Publications) by Jerry Judge.

Additionally, Jean Syed has recently had a book of sonnets accepted for publication by Dos Madres Press. Jerry Judge has 2 additional chapbooks soon to be published by Finishing Line Press and Pudding House.

Several poets in the group including Heather Mathews, Madeleine Crouse, Linda Schofield, and Dori Van Luit had poems published in journals or anthologies during the year. Some group members read poems on WVXU to celebrate National Poetry Month, and Robin Carey Allgeyer interviewed other poet members on the radio to share memories of the late and great jazz icon, Oscar Treadwell, who was a beloved member of the critique group.

If you're interested in joining the group, please feel free to contact Jerry Judge.
