CWPs Mission Statement
The Cincinnati Writers Project was founded in 1987 to create a community of writers in the tri-state. It's that simple.
I'm tempted to leave this with those two sentences. But being a writer, my fingers continue to tap these keys.
Because the Wednesday fiction critique group has spawned so many of your CWP's board members and loudmouths, people are often surprised to learn our organization is far broader. Indeed, in an average year our poets outpublish our fictioners. We are proud of our umbrella, stretching as it does over poets and essayists, novelists and screenwriters. Where words are being cultivated, there you will find the CWP.
Over the years, we have formed critique groups, held workshops, thrown parties, and published our membership's work. Could we have done more? Certainly. Will we do more? Absolutely. What exactly? Beats me. That will be up to you. Go to the board and tell them what you want. Come to the board and volunteer to captain your brainstorm.
One caveat: Will the CWP tackle the future with a singleminded determination? Will we be efficient and speedy? Never. We're writers, children of chaos. We're a herd of cats going in every direction at once.
But we are going to have fun along the way.
Now get out there and write!

Yep, we're under construction. But give us a break. We're writers not web monkeys.
We hope to have this whole shebang revamped by the end of summer, 2008.
Stop back, or shoot us an email if you're interested in learning more.
